Jim received a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering in 1968 from Kettering University, (formerly General Motors Institute) in Flint Michigan. While at GMI, he was a member and officer of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity and served on the Student Government Council. He received a Juris Doctor in 1973 from Michigan State University Law School (formerly Detroit College of Law).

Jim has maintained a solo practice since 1975 with offices in Scottsdale, Arizona and Canton, Michigan. His practice is devoted to Estate and Legacy Planning, Probate and Elder Law. He s a member of the Probate and Estate Planning, Elder Law and Master Lawyers Sections of the State Bar. He was also accredited by the Veterans Administration.

Jim has served several communities in the capacity of the Tax Board of Review Tribunal, as a member of the Economic Development Commission, and currently serves as a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals in Canton, Michigan. He is a member of the Canton Chamber of Commerce, Plymouth Chamber of Commerce, and formerly a member of the Southern Wayne County and Northville Chambers. He is the founder and Director of a men’s group of business, government and community leaders that meet monthly and donate funds to local charities. He has participated in volunteer community redevelopment efforts called Paint the Town, and Christmas in Action. He is a 50 year member of the Knights of Columbus, and has served his church in numerous capacities including chair of the Parish Council.

Jim is a consummate networker and participates in numerous local networking groups. He is a member of the Professional Resource Alliance of Greater Michigan. He is a firm believer in the team concept and works closely with Financial, Accounting, and Tax professionals.

Having prepared hundreds of Estate Plans, Jim believes that a well-educated client is essential to developing an appropriate estate plan to achieve the client’s objectives. His clients have consistently thanked him for his time and effort in discussing the basics of asset protection and the numerous estate planning options.

Away from the office, Jim is a Master Gardener. He is also an avid fisherman and has participated in and won numerous fishing tournaments around the Great Lakes and was named Skipper of the Year in consecutive years. He also enjoys hunting and golf.
